Apply penetrating oil and let it soak
Clean exposed threads and surrounding area
Use a center punch to mark the bolt center
Drill a pilot hole straight into the bolt
Use a left-hand drill bit if possible
Try a screw extractor in the drilled hole
Tap the extractor in gently and turn counterclockwise
Apply heat to the surrounding metal if needed
Reapply penetrating oil after heating and cooling
Use locking pliers if any bolt remains exposed
Cut a slot in the bolt head and use a flathead driver
Weld a nut onto the broken bolt if accessible
Drill the bolt out completely if extraction fails
Re-tap the threads or use a thread insert after removal
Replace the bolt with a new one of the correct size and grade
