How To Turn Off Fire Alarms?

If the alarm is a real emergency, evacuate immediately and call emergency services

If it is a false alarm, use the alarm panel’s silence or reset function if you are authorized to do so

Replace the battery if the alarm is chirping due to low power

Clean dust or debris from the alarm unit

Check for steam, smoke, or cooking fumes that may be triggering the alarm

Open windows or ventilate the area if safe to do so

Reset the breaker only if the alarm is hardwired and you are authorized and it is safe

Contact the building manager, landlord, or fire alarm company if the alarm will not stop
