Turn off the ice maker and unplug the refrigerator or switch off power at the breaker
Remove all ice from the bin
Take out the ice bin and any removable parts
Wash removable parts with warm water and mild dish soap
Rinse and dry all removable parts completely
Wipe the ice maker interior with a soft cloth dampened with warm water and mild soap
Clean the ice mold, ice chute, and surrounding areas gently
Use a soft brush or cotton swab to remove buildup from tight areas
Wipe away soap residue with a clean damp cloth
Dry all surfaces thoroughly
Reinstall the ice bin and removable parts
Restore power and turn the ice maker back on
Run and discard the first few batches of ice
Clean the ice maker regularly to prevent buildup
