Pour the oil into a sealable, leak-proof container
Close the container tightly
Put the container in the trash if your local rules allow it
Check local disposal rules for cooking oil or motor oil
Take large amounts of oil to a recycling center or hazardous waste facility
Never pour oil down the sink, toilet, storm drain, or onto the ground
Wipe small leftover amounts from pans with paper towels before washing
Keep oil away from drains and waterways
