One player starts by attempting a basketball shot from any chosen spot
If the shot is made, the next player must take the same shot from the same spot
If the next player misses, they receive the first letter of H-O-R-S-E
If the next player makes the shot, the following player must also make it or receive the letter
Continue taking turns repeating the same shot sequence
Each miss after a made shot adds the next letter in H-O-R-S-E
A player who spells H-O-R-S-E is eliminated
The last player remaining wins
Players may agree on rules for allowed shots before starting
Players may agree on whether bank shots, trick shots, or rebounds are allowed
