Align the zipper slider with both sides of the teeth at the bottom

Insert the teeth evenly into both sides of the slider

Hold the zipper tape straight and taut

Gently pull the slider upward a few millimeters

If one side slips out, realign both sides and try again

Use pliers to slightly pinch the slider if it is loose

Use a small flat tool to guide the teeth into the slider if needed

Check for bent, missing, or damaged teeth

Remove any fabric caught in the zipper

Lubricate the teeth lightly with graphite, soap, or zipper lubricant

Test the zipper slowly after reattaching it

Replace the zipper slider if it will not stay on track

Replace the entire zipper if the teeth are badly damaged
