Align the zipper slider with both sides of the teeth at the bottom
Insert the teeth evenly into both sides of the slider
Hold the zipper tape straight and taut
Gently pull the slider upward a few millimeters
If one side slips out, realign both sides and try again
Use pliers to slightly pinch the slider if it is loose
Use a small flat tool to guide the teeth into the slider if needed
Check for bent, missing, or damaged teeth
Remove any fabric caught in the zipper
Lubricate the teeth lightly with graphite, soap, or zipper lubricant
Test the zipper slowly after reattaching it
Replace the zipper slider if it will not stay on track
Replace the entire zipper if the teeth are badly damaged
