How to Sourdough Starter?

Mix equal parts flour and water in a clean jar

Stir until no dry flour remains

Cover loosely

Leave at room temperature

Feed every 24 hours by discarding half and adding equal parts flour and water

Repeat daily

Keep the jar warm, around 70–80°F

Watch for bubbles and growth

Continue feeding until it doubles reliably after feeding

Use when it is active, bubbly, and has a pleasant sour smell
