Keep the fox wild; do not attempt to tame or domesticate it
Contact a licensed wildlife rehabilitator or exotic animal expert
Check local laws before handling or keeping any fox
Do not feed, chase, corner, or try to pet the fox
Observe from a safe distance
Secure food, trash, and pet supplies to avoid attracting it
If injured or orphaned, use gloves and a carrier only if trained to do so
Keep children and pets away from the animal
Report aggressive or sick behavior to animal control or wildlife authorities
If you want a companion animal, adopt a legal domestic pet instead
