Take a square sheet of paper
Fold it diagonally to make a triangle
Unfold it
Fold it diagonally the other way
Unfold it again
Fold the paper in half horizontally
Unfold it
Push the sides inward to form a smaller square
Fold the top layer’s left and right edges to the center line
Fold the top point downward
Unfold the last three folds
Lift the bottom point upward along the crease lines
Flatten the shape into a kite form
Repeat the same folds on the back side
Fold the two side edges toward the center
Fold the top point down
Fold the bird’s head by making a small reverse fold at the tip
Pull the wings down gently
Shape the tail and body as needed
