Let the wax harden completely
Gently scrape off excess wax with a plastic card or dull knife
Place paper towels or a brown paper bag over the residue
Apply low heat with an iron or hair dryer to melt the remaining wax
Blot the softened wax with clean paper towels
Repeat with fresh paper towels until no wax remains
Wash the area with warm water and mild soap if appropriate
Use rubbing alcohol or a suitable cleaner for any leftover residue
Test cleaners on a small hidden area first
Dry the surface thoroughly
