Read the user manual for your specific model
Check that the inner pot, sealing ring, and steam release parts are properly installed
Add ingredients and at least the minimum required liquid
Close the lid securely
Set the steam release valve to the sealing position
Select the cooking program or use manual pressure cook settings
Set the cooking time
Wait for the Instant Pot to build pressure and start cooking
When cooking is complete, let pressure release naturally or use quick release as needed
Move the steam release valve to venting for quick release, keeping hands and face away from steam
Open the lid only after the float valve drops and pressure is fully released
Stir, serve, or continue with additional cooking if needed
Unplug the unit after use
Let the pot cool before cleaning
Wash the inner pot, lid, sealing ring, and accessories after use
Never fill past the maximum fill line
Never open the lid while the pot is under pressure
