Identify the function or wave
Find the maximum value
Find the minimum value
Subtract the minimum from the maximum
Divide the result by 2
Use the formula: Amplitude = (maximum – minimum) / 2
For a sine or cosine function in the form y = A sin(x) or y = A cos(x), use the absolute value of A
For a graph, measure the distance from the midline to the peak
For a wave, measure the distance from the center line to the highest point
For data, use half of the range if the values represent one full cycle
