Gather dry tinder, kindling, and firewood
Clear a safe area away from flammable materials
Build a small fire lay with tinder at the center

Blow gently at the base to help the flame grow
Add larger pieces of wood gradually as the fire strengthens

Fully extinguish the fire before leaving the area
