Tap the lid around the edge with the back of a spoon
Run the lid under hot water for 20 to 30 seconds
Use a rubber glove or jar gripper for better traction
Wrap a rubber band around the lid for extra grip
Pry up the edge of the lid slightly with a spoon to release the seal
Strike the lid lightly against a countertop while holding the jar securely
Ask someone else to try with a stronger grip
Use a jar-opening tool or rubber jar opener
Open the jar with a towel for added friction
If needed, use pliers or a wrench on the lid carefully
