Check your card for a star marking
Look for a star in the upper right corner of your driver’s license or state ID
If it says “REAL ID” on the card, it is a Real ID
If it has a gold or black star, it is usually a Real ID
If it says “Not for federal identification” or similar wording, it is not a Real ID
Compare it with your state’s DMV Real ID sample online
Contact your state DMV to confirm your ID type
If you obtained it after providing extra identity documents for federal ID purposes, it may be a Real ID
