Wash your hands
Blink several times
Rub your eye gently with the affected eye closed
Pull the upper eyelid over the lower eyelid and blink
Rinse the eye with clean water or saline
Use a clean cotton swab to lift the eyelash from the corner of the eye if it is visible
Use a clean tissue to wipe the eyelid if the eyelash is on the skin
Do not rub the eye hard
Do not use tweezers or sharp objects near the eye
Remove contact lenses if you wear them
Seek medical help if the eyelash does not come out, pain continues, or vision changes
