Wear gloves, an N95 mask, and eye protection
Move the wood to a well-ventilated area
Dry the wood completely
Vacuum loose mold with a HEPA vacuum
Wipe the surface with a dry microfiber cloth
Apply white vinegar to the moldy area
Let the vinegar sit for 1 hour
Scrub the area with a soft brush
Wipe clean with a damp cloth
Apply hydrogen peroxide to stubborn mold
Let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes
Scrub again and wipe clean
Use a wood-safe mold remover if needed
Sand the affected area lightly after it dries
Clean off sanding dust
Seal or refinish the wood after treatment
Fix the moisture source to prevent regrowth
Discard wood that is deeply rotted or heavily infested
