Use a supported console: PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, or Xbox One
Make sure both players have Epic Games accounts
Sign in to the first player’s account on the console
Start Fortnite and reach the lobby
Turn on a second controller
Sign in the second controller to a second console user profile
In the Fortnite lobby, have the second player press the indicated button to join
Wait for both players to appear in the lobby
Select Duos or Squads
Start the match
Keep both players on the same console and same screen
Use split screen only in supported game modes
Use a stable internet connection
Make sure both accounts are allowed to play online on the console
If split screen does not appear, restart Fortnite and reconnect both controllers
