Empty the pipe of ash and loose debris
Tap the pipe gently to dislodge residue
Run a pipe cleaner through the stem and airway
Soak the pipe in isopropyl alcohol if the material allows it
Use salt with alcohol for stubborn buildup if appropriate
Scrub the bowl and stem with cotton swabs or pipe cleaners
Rinse thoroughly with warm water if safe for the pipe material
Dry completely before using again
Repeat as needed for heavy buildup
