How To Tint Car Glass?

Check local tint laws and choose a legal tint percentage

Gather materials: window tint film, spray bottle, baby shampoo or tint solution, squeegee, utility knife, microfiber cloth, heat gun, hard card, ruler, and tape

Clean the glass thoroughly inside and outside

Remove dust, grease, stickers, and adhesive residue

Dry the window completely

Cut the tint film slightly larger than the window

Shape the film on the outside of the glass if needed

Peel the liner from the tint film

Spray the adhesive side and the glass with tint solution

Apply the film to the inside of the window

Position the film correctly before it sticks

Squeegee from the center outward to remove air and liquid

Trim excess film along the edges

Use a heat gun to help the film conform to curves

Squeegee again to remove remaining bubbles and moisture

Let the tint cure without rolling windows down

Avoid cleaning the tinted windows until fully cured

Inspect for bubbles, gaps, or lifting edges

Rework any problem areas before the film fully sets
