Clean and dry the skin first
Use a non-slip adhesive bandage or cohesive wrap
Start the wrap several inches above the wound
Overlap each layer by about half
Wrap firmly, not tightly
Anchor the top and bottom edges with medical tape
Use a thigh sleeve or compression shorts over the bandage
Apply skin-safe adhesive spray or tape if appropriate
Choose a wider bandage or wrap for better grip
Recheck and retape if the wrap loosens
Make sure circulation is not restricted
