Use an elastic bandage or compression wrap
Start wrapping at the toes or just below the foot
Wrap snugly, not tightly
Overlap each layer by about half the width of the bandage
Move upward toward the ankle and lower calf
Keep the wrap even and smooth
Leave toes exposed so you can check circulation
Remove or loosen the wrap if you feel numbness, tingling, increased pain, or cold toes
Rewrap if swelling increases and the bandage becomes too tight
Use compression along with rest, ice, and elevation
Follow medical advice if the injury is severe or not improving
