Turn on your TV and Roku device
Press and hold the pairing button on the Roku remote (usually the Home button) for 5–10 seconds
Wait for the pairing light to start flashing
Select your TV input if prompted on-screen
If the TV model supports automatic pairing, follow the on-screen prompts to complete setup
For IR remotes (older Roku remotes), point the remote at the Roku device and press Home
On the Roku home screen, go to Settings
Select Remotes & devices
Select Set up a new device
Choose Remote
Follow the on-screen instructions to pair the remote
If pairing fails, remove and reinsert the remote batteries (or charge the remote)
Try again after 30 seconds
If using a Roku Voice Remote, press and hold Home and Back together for 5–10 seconds
Test the remote by changing volume or power controls
If TV control isn’t working, return to Settings > Remotes & devices > Remote control setup and select your TV brand/model
Use the Roku remote’s TV power/volume buttons to confirm TV control works
