Open a web browser
Go to a speed test website such as speedtest.net, fast.com, or speed.cloudflare.com
Close apps or downloads that may use the internet
Make sure you are connected to the network you want to test
Click the start button on the speed test page
Wait for the test to finish
Check the download speed
Check the upload speed
Check the ping or latency
Run the test more than once for accuracy
Test on different devices if needed
Test using Wi-Fi and then using an Ethernet cable if possible
Compare the results with your internet plan
Restart your router if the speed is much lower than expected
