If there are two authors, include both names: (Smith & Jones, 2023)
If there are three or more authors, use the first author followed by et al.: (Smith et al., 2023)
If citing a direct quote, include the page number if available: (Smith, 2023, p. 5)
If no author is listed, use the organization name: (National Institutes of Health, 2023)
If no date is listed, use n.d.: (Smith, n.d.)
For multiple citations in one sentence, separate them with semicolons: (Smith, 2023; Jones, 2022)
