Stop the movement if it causes pain, numbness, tingling, dizziness, or weakness
Try gentle posture changes instead of forceful twisting
Walk for a few minutes
Do light shoulder rolls
Do gentle neck and upper back stretches
Use a warm compress for 15 to 20 minutes
Use an ergonomic chair and keep feet flat on the floor
Avoid repeated self-cracking
See a chiropractor, physical therapist, or doctor if the discomfort persists
Seek urgent care if you have severe pain, trauma, loss of bladder or bowel control, or neurologic symptoms
