Wear safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and a dust mask
Secure the brick on a stable surface
Use a brick chisel and hammer for small cuts
Score the line with a masonry chisel first
Strike the chisel firmly along the scored line
Use an angle grinder with a diamond masonry blade for cleaner cuts
Cut slowly and steadily along the marked line
Use a masonry saw for larger or repeated cuts
Keep the blade and brick supported to reduce chipping
Wet the brick or use a wet saw to reduce dust
Cut slightly outside the line, then trim as needed
Smooth rough edges with a rubbing stone or masonry file
Clean up dust and debris after cutting
