Rinse the kumquat thoroughly
Eat it whole with the skin on
Chew gently to release the sweet skin and tart flesh
Remove and discard the seeds if desired
Spit out the seeds if you prefer not to swallow them
Slice it in half if you want to remove seeds first
Add it to salads, yogurt, or desserts if you do not want to eat it plain
Use it in marmalade or preserves if you have many kumquats
