Add a small amount of water to the rice
Cover the pot tightly
Cook on low heat for 5 to 10 minutes
Let the rice steam off the heat for 5 to 10 minutes
Fluff the rice with a fork
If still firm, add a little more water and repeat
For microwave rice, sprinkle water over it and cover before reheating
For oven rice, add water, cover, and bake until tender
