Complete the safe handling demonstration at pickup
Buy only firearms that are legal in California
Use a licensed California firearms dealer for transfers
If carrying a concealed handgun, apply for a California CCW permit through your county sheriff or city police chief
Meet CCW eligibility requirements
Complete any required training for a CCW permit
Submit fingerprints and application materials for a CCW permit
Pay the required fees
Wait for approval from the issuing authority
