Open the Apple menu ()
Select System Settings (or System Preferences on older macOS)
Click General
Click Software Update
Click Update Now (or Upgrade Now)
If prompted, enter your Apple ID password
Follow the on-screen instructions
Restart your Mac if requested
To check Safari separately (if available): open Safari
Click Safari in the menu bar
Select Settings (or Preferences)
Look for any Safari update option if shown
If Safari is not listed separately, update macOS via Software Update to update Safari
On iPhone/iPad: open Settings
Tap General
Tap Software Update
Tap Download and Install
Enter your passcode if prompted
Follow the on-screen instructions
