Open Instagram and go to your Direct Messages
Open the conversation containing the message you want to like
Double-tap the message, or press and hold it
Tap the heart reaction if it appears
If the app shows a quick reaction bar, select the heart icon
To remove the like, tap the heart reaction again or press and hold the message and deselect it
