Open the crafting table (or crafting menu).
Place 1 stick and 1 string in the 2×2 crafting grid to make a bow.
Place 2 sticks and 2 string in the 3×3 crafting grid to make a fishing rod.
Place string in the crafting grid with the required materials to craft items that require string (such as a tripwire hook or cobweb, depending on the recipe you’re using).
If you want string itself, place 1 spider string item from killing spiders, or use cobwebs to obtain string.
