Soak the area in warm, soapy water for several minutes
Gently rub or roll the adhesive with your fingers or a soft cloth
Apply petroleum jelly (or vegetable oil) to the glue and rub until it loosens
Use acetone (nail polish remover with acetone) on the glued area; wipe and repeat as needed
Use rubbing alcohol (isopropyl alcohol) on the glue; rub and reapply until it breaks down
For skin, try oil-based methods first; avoid harsh solvents if the skin is irritated
For metal/glass, use acetone or isopropyl alcohol, then wipe clean
For plastic, test acetone or alcohol on a small hidden spot first
Use a commercial adhesive remover if available, following the label directions
If on fabric, place paper towels under the fabric, apply acetone sparingly, then blot; wash after
If on wood, start with oil or soapy water; if needed, use a small amount of acetone on a hidden spot
For large spots, carefully lift edges with a plastic scraper or fingernail before applying solvent
After loosening, wash with soap and water to remove residue
If glue is on eyes or severe skin burns occur, seek immediate medical attention
