Identify your PC/laptop model and current BIOS version
Download the correct BIOS update file for your exact model from the manufacturer’s website
Confirm the update method supported by your device (BIOS utility in Windows, vendor updater, or bootable USB)
Back up important data
Connect AC power and keep the charger connected throughout
Disable BitLocker (if applicable) and suspend/enforce any security prompts as instructed by the vendor
Close all running programs and prevent sleep/hibernation during the update
If using a bootable USB method: create the USB using the manufacturer’s instructions and copy the BIOS files to the specified location
Reboot and enter BIOS/UEFI setup if required
Select the BIOS update option (e.g., EZ Flash / M-Flash / Instant Flash / Q-Flash) in BIOS
Choose the BIOS file from the USB and start the update
Do not power off, reset, or remove the USB during flashing
If using a Windows utility: run the vendor updater as instructed and follow on-screen prompts
Do not interrupt the process; wait for completion and any reboot prompts
After the update, reboot into BIOS/UEFI
Verify the new BIOS version in BIOS setup
Load optimized defaults if recommended by the vendor
Reconfigure any custom BIOS settings if needed
Confirm system stability and normal boot behavior
If the update fails or the system won’t boot: follow the manufacturer’s recovery steps (BIOS recovery/dual BIOS/flashback) using the documented procedure for your model
