Scrape off excess chocolate with a dull knife or spoon
Rinse the stained area from the back with cold water
Apply a small amount of dish soap to the stain
Gently rub or work the soap into the fabric

Rinse with cold water
If any stain remains, pre-treat with a laundry stain remover or liquid detergent
Wash in the warmest water safe for the fabric label
Check the stain before drying; do not put in the dryer if still visible
For stubborn stains, repeat pre-treatment and washing
For white fabrics, use oxygen bleach (not chlorine) and soak per label directions, then wash
For delicate fabrics, use a gentle detergent and cold water, then air-dry
If the chocolate is on carpet or upholstery, blot (don’t rub) with cold water, then blot with a dish-soap solution, then blot with clean water, then blot dry
