Start slightly below the top line.
Make a small upward curve to the right.
Loop down in a smooth stroke.
Curve left at the bottom to form the tail.
Bring the stroke back up slightly to finish.
For uppercase J, start at the top line and draw a straight downward stroke.
Curve left at the bottom into a hook.
Add a small loop or flourish at the top if needed.
