Open WhatsApp
Go to the Status tab
Tap your status update
Tap the three dots or menu icon
Select Save, Download, or Forward if available
If no save option appears, take a screenshot or screen recording
Use a status saver app if permitted on your device
Ask the sender to resend the photo or video directly
Check your phone gallery or file manager for auto-saved media
Enable media auto-download in WhatsApp settings for future status media
Back up WhatsApp chats and media regularly
