Design the frame geometry

Weld or braze the frame together
Build or install the fork
Clean and finish the frame
Paint or coat the frame
Install headset bearings and fork
Install the stem and handlebars
Install the seatpost and saddle
Install the bottom bracket
Install the crankset and chainring
Install the front and rear wheels
Mount the tires and inner tubes
Install the cassette or freewheel
Install the chain
Install the front and rear derailleurs if needed
Install the shifters and cables if needed
Install the brake calipers or disc brakes
Install the brake levers and cables or hoses
Attach pedals
Adjust wheel alignment
Adjust brakes
Adjust shifting
Check all bolts and fasteners
Test ride and fine-tune the bicycle
