Craft or find melon seeds
Prepare farmland by tilling dirt with a hoe
Place the melon seeds on the farmland
Make sure the farmland is next to a water source
Keep the area well lit
Wait for the melon stem to grow
Leave an empty dirt, grass, or farmland block beside the stem for the melon to spawn
Harvest the melon blocks when they appear
Replant seeds if needed
