Read the number at the top edge of the plunger rubber closest to the needle
Each small line usually equals 0.01 mL or 0.02 mL, depending on the syringe type
Each larger line usually equals 0.1 mL
The full syringe equals 1.0 mL
Align your reading at eye level
Read from the syringe’s measurement line, not from the plunger tip
Confirm the unit is mL, not units or cc
If unsure, check the syringe packaging or manufacturer markings
