Unplug the dryer or turn off its gas supply
Pull the dryer away from the wall
Disconnect the dryer vent hose from the back of the dryer
Remove lint from the vent hose and dryer opening
Use a vacuum or vent brush to clean inside the hose
Clean the lint trap and lint trap housing
Detach the vent from the wall if accessible
Insert a dryer vent brush into the wall vent and clean thoroughly
Vacuum out loosened lint from the vent opening and surrounding area
Check the vent flap outside and remove any lint or debris
Reconnect the vent hose securely
Push the dryer back into place
Run the dryer on air fluff or low heat for a few minutes
Confirm strong airflow at the exterior vent
Clean the dryer vent regularly
