Click any cell inside the pivot table
Open the drop-down arrow for the row or column field you want to sort
Choose Sort A to Z for ascending order or Sort Z to A for descending order
For value-based sorting, right-click a row label
Select Sort
Choose More Sort Options
Select ascending or descending by the value field you want
To sort by a custom list, open Sort options and choose the custom list
To sort manually, drag the field items into the desired order
Refresh the pivot table if the source data changes
