Heat water to about 200°F / 93°C
Add coarse coffee grounds to the French press
Use about 1 tablespoon of coffee per 4 ounces of water
Pour a small amount of hot water over the grounds to saturate them
Wait 30 seconds
Pour in the remaining hot water
Stir gently
Place the lid on with the plunger pulled up
Let the coffee steep for 4 minutes
Press the plunger down slowly and steadily
Pour the coffee immediately into cups or a serving container
Clean the French press after use
