Turn off the vacuum and unplug it
Remove the filter from the vacuum
Tap the filter gently to remove loose dirt
Rinse the filter with cold water
Wash until the water runs clear
Do not use soap unless the manual allows it
Shake off excess water
Let the filter air-dry completely
Reinstall the dry filter
Clean the filter regularly according to the user manual
