Review symptoms and risk factors

Perform a physical examination

Order blood tests, including liver function tests and bilirubin

Check tumor markers such as CA 19-9

Perform imaging tests such as abdominal ultrasound

Perform contrast-enhanced CT scan of the pancreas

Perform MRI or MRCP if needed

Use endoscopic ultrasound for closer evaluation
