Unplug the controller from the device
Remove any batteries or detachable power source if present
Inspect the back for visible screws under stickers, grips, or rubber feet
Peel back any hidden screw covers carefully
Use the correct screwdriver to remove all back shell screws
Keep the screws organized by location
Insert a plastic pry tool into the seam between the front and back shells
Work slowly around the edges to release the clips
Separate the shell halves gently
Disconnect any internal ribbon cables or connectors if present
Remove the face buttons, triggers, thumbsticks, and other loose parts as needed
Unscrew the internal board or frame mounts
Lift out the PCB carefully
Remove the analog sticks, motors, or other modules if needed
Keep all parts in order for reassembly
Reassemble in reverse order after inspection or repair
