Redirect biting to an appropriate toy immediately
Stop play as soon as biting starts
Keep hands and fingers out of play
Use wand toys or kick toys instead of bare hands
Reward gentle play with treats or praise
Avoid roughhousing or encouraging biting
Provide daily play sessions to burn energy
Make sure the kitten has enough enrichment and toys
Do not punish, hit, or yell at the kitten
Use a firm, calm “no” and disengage
Walk away for a short time after biting
Trim nails regularly
Check for teething discomfort and offer safe chew toys
Ensure the kitten is not overstimulated
Handle the kitten gently and briefly if it gets mouthy
