Gather embroidery floss, needle, fabric, hoop, scissors, and pattern
Cut a length of thread
Separate floss strands if needed
Thread the needle
Secure the fabric in the embroidery hoop
Transfer or mark the design on the fabric
Tie a knot or use a waste knot
Bring the needle up from the back of the fabric
Follow the pattern with the chosen stitch
Keep stitches even and tension consistent
Bring the needle down and up as needed for each stitch
Change thread colors when required
Secure the thread on the back when finished
Trim excess thread
Remove the fabric from the hoop
Press the finished embroidery if needed
