How To Make Stuffed Bell Peppers?

Preheat the oven to 375°F

Cut the tops off the bell peppers and remove the seeds and membranes

Lightly oil a baking dish

Cook rice according to package directions if using

Brown ground beef, turkey, or sausage in a skillet

Drain excess fat

Add chopped onion and garlic to the skillet and cook until softened

Stir in cooked rice, tomato sauce, salt, pepper, and any desired seasonings

Mix in cheese if desired

Spoon the filling into the bell peppers

Place the stuffed peppers upright in the baking dish

Add a little water or tomato sauce to the bottom of the dish

Cover with foil

Bake for 30 to 40 minutes

Remove foil and top with cheese if desired

Bake uncovered for 10 to 15 minutes more

Serve hot
